Declaration of [Health] Independence

It’s clear to me that those who are in pursuit of life, liberty, happiness, and wellness need to declare health independence from the corporatized disease-care system partially or completely.

As with many American institutions, profit has become the focus at the expense of true health freedom. Healthy people are bad for business (they don’t need to purchase the services offered) so healthy people are not the institution’s goal. Repeat business is the goal. Hospitals are hotels with pills and procedures – the beds must stay full to stay “in the black!”

(This is where you call me a conspiracy theorist.)

In America we have first-rate acute healthcare. If you break a bone, are in an automobile accident, or have a heart attack, the emergency care system is stellar. However if you suffer from a debilitating or degenerative chronic condition, our medical-insurance-pharmeceutical system is not designed to get you better….because your chronic condition that requires doctors, hospitals, clinics, prescription drugs, and insurance claims is way too profitable to be concerned with a cure.

No one is really fighting to cure cancer or diabetes or heart disease. These chronic diseases are too lucrative to obliterate.

(This is where you call me a conspiracy theorist a second time.)

This is why most conventional doctors will not urge you to change your lifestyle habits. They aren’t even taught how to counsel such. Food choices, smoking, and exercise are just a few habits that can be altered to vastly increase your health, wellness, and longevity but chances are high you won’t hear this recommended by your doctor…unless you are lucky enough to have access to a doctor who has awakened to the ethical merits of serving patients over turning a profit.

But what about that grandfather who ate fried eggs every morning of his life, sat in his Lazy Boy all day, and smoked until he died at 89? There are outliers, indeed, but don’t risk your health-odds on abnormal cases.

How to declare your health freedom:

1. Get a cookbook from a a whole food, plant-based professional (see #7 on the list HERE) and start using it daily.

2. Stop smoking.

3. Start exercising even if it is just a 20-30 minute walk each day.

If you master these three habits, you will be well on your way to re-claiming your health freedom. This is the strongest start anyone can make to begin reversing chronic disease, increase longevity, phasing out the need for pharmaceuticals, and preventing future chronic issues.

These efforts will require determination, discipline, and a very strong desire to experience health liberation. The path is simple, but that’s not to claim it is easy. However the results will be worth more than you ever could imagine.

If you are on one pill or more, if you have one chronic pain or more, if you have been frustrated with your health situation once or more and you’ve not tried the three steps above to the best of your ability, then you are choosing your own health imprisonment. I say this not to shame or guilt you, but to empower you. You have the ability to choose & create health liberation! If you leave your health in the hands of others you abdicate authority and command of your own healing. Self healing is the only true healing. Those who take control of their choices tend to live, age, and heal better and more successfully.

The expression of your vitality is largely based on the daily choices you make. While there are true genetic disorders, birth defects, and catastrophic diseases, the bulk of what modern medicine manages are the symptoms of lifestyle habits: poor food choices, smoking, lack of exercise,

A whole food, plant-based diet is the only way of eating that has been scientifically proven to prevent and reverse heart disease, America’s #1 killer which claims over 600,000 lives per year. This fact alone needs to be impetus enough to encourage everyone who has access to ample and decent plant foods to adopt a whole food, plant-based diet.

Ideally America will move towards universal healthcare so that the for-profit motive, incentive, or demand of contemporary medicine can move more towards prevention and reversal rather than management and maintenance of disease.

Stake your claim and know that you are not only responsible for but worthy and capable of declaring your health freedom today! Join the ranks of those who charted this course and have laid before you the tools and education you need to claim health liberty for yourself. There is nothing more sweet than being free to pursue & live the life you seek.

I can’t believe I only just found you, Carla! Your ideas about nutrition align so closely to mine and I only do what feels right to my body; eat what I love. The only processed foods that I still eat are hummus and vegan cream cheese and sugar-free soy butter and Cashew milk. Everything else is just the food. (Occasional chocolate too) I don’t want to become obsessive about foods in an unhealthy way because I have a past relationship with eating identical to yours. Do you think that cutting out these last few processed foods would be borderline obsessive?
